A Sports City equipped with international facilities will soon be established in Bihar's capital, Patna. This Sports City will feature all modern amenities, making it capable of hosting national and international level sports competitions. The Sports Department has requested 100 acres of land from the Patna district administration for this project. The district administration has already started searching for suitable land and will soon submit a proposal regarding land availability. The Sports City is expected to be located near Patna, with the Dumri area in Punpun being the current priority for land selection due to its proximity to NH-83.
The Dumri area is being prioritized because it is well-connected by NH-83 and the Bihta-Sarmera road, making it a favorable location for the Sports City. However, Bihta is also being considered as an alternative. The location will be chosen with the aim of ensuring quick access by air, train, and road, facilitating the hosting of international competitions in Patna in the future.
250 Acres of Land for Industrial Use
In addition to the Sports City, the Patna district administration is also searching for 250 acres of land requested by BIADA (Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority) for industrial development. The Industrial Department has also written a letter requesting the provision of land. The district administration is looking for suitable land in the Fatuha area, where an industrial area and units already exist. BIADA requires additional land, and the district administration has started working on making this land available in the Fatuha region.
Team Formed to Identify Land
District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh has formed a team led by the Additional Collector of Revenue to identify suitable land for the Sports City as requested by the Sports Department. The team is consulting with the relevant Circle Officer and conducting inspections. The district administration will soon prepare and send the proposal.
